Mecum Auction in St. Charles, IL Recap

My partner and I just got back from the Mecum auction in St. Charles IL where there were approximately 1,000 cars being auctioned over three days.  Mid-Atlantic Classic Cars participated as both a buyer and we successfully sold the restored 1967 Camaro Convertible to its very happy new owner!

We wanted to thank Dana Mecum and his great staff for hosting an event that is friendly to both sellers and buyers with an amazing selection of cars, motorcycles and memorabilia.  If you have never been to an auction, I recommend any of the Mecum auctions .. it’s an experience you won’t soon forget!

The 1967 Camaro Convertible that I just finished this August got a tremendous amount of attention and we had a spirited bidding war on stage for it … I loved it!  You can see the results of the Mecum auction at:  http://www.mecum.com/auctions/top_picks.cfm?AUCTION_ID=CH0911

We also found some great new inventory that I’m really excited to get started on restoring including a GTO (it is 1 of only 59 built with its configuration and a powerful 400 CI engine) and a beautiful 1967 Mustang Coupe in dark green .. you Bullitt fans will be amazed with the power train we will have in this when its done!  Check back on our site (www.midatlanticclassiccars.com) for pictures and status on them as progress is made.

Lastly for those of you in the Mid-Atlantic area, we will be at both Carlisle Fall and Hershey in the upcoming months with some of our inventory and we would love it if you would stop by and “talk car” with us.

All the best, Tim
